Task List

Students are expected to create an Executive Summary individually.

The focus of the Executive Summary is the summarize the QI project that was developed in this course through group and individual assignments. As such, in-text citations and references are NOT required for the executive summary document since this material should be a summary of previously summited work. Please review feedback on previous assignments to make changes as needed.

The following information should be included in the Executive Summary: Problem Statement, QI Mission and Objectives, QI Design/Methods, Essential Facts and Discoveries, Recommendations and Future Considerations. See the grading rubric for specific information to be included in the summary.

The executive summary should be no more than two (2) pages in length and should provide an adequate representation of the entire QI plan in a shortened form.

Module 5 Executive Summary

The key points in the executive summary should be presented in the identical order as they appear in the QI Plan so as to encourage logical flow and cohesion.

An impersonal writing style should be used to ensure that the report remains formal, especially if the audience is your manager or supervisor.

Using definite, specific, and concrete language, say exactly what you intend, in a way that is as clear as possible to the reader.

This executive summary should be creative and “eye catching”. Use headings, data graphics/figures, tables, and bullet points to help enhance organization and understanding.

Please note, this should NOT be a formal paper, PowerPoint or a poster presentation.
