Poster Presentation Assignment

DUE DATE:  April – TBA – Presentations will be uploaded online

Worth: 25% of final grade.

Overview:

Students will create a poster board to be delivered to their classmates. It will highlight key learnings about the sector under study, describe their population and best practices and outline the challenges facing SSWs serving this client group.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the assignment students will:

1. Articulate key learning about service population and service delivery
2. Discuss with confidence key learnings, best practices and challenges in the sector
3. Design a creative poster board.
4. Present project ideas to classmates in a compelling and professional manner

Applied Social Work Project

Steps:

1. Create a 3 – panel poster board outlining 5 key learnings, 5 service delivery methods, best practices, and challenges about the service population you studied. It should be creative and professional.  Please review the material covered in the course for more details.

2. Your presentation should include at least 3 audience engagement techniques as described in the course.  This could include an introductory hook, narrative, inspirational quote, interactive games, thought provoking questions, visualizations.   Presentation is between 10 -15 minutes.

3. Poster board is clear and visually appealing. Include statistical and qualitative data. Also include diagrams, photos, quotes.  Please remember to use APA referencing your reference are in the right-hand corner or the back of your presentation board.

 Allow 3-4 minutes for questions.

NOTE:    If you are working as a pair, both students will receive the same grade.  Regardless of everyone’s level of contribution.
