Aim of Analyzing the Concept

Introduce your reader to the aim of this concept analysis. This is to clarify the meaning of the concept XYZ that will contribute to share d understanding of its use within health care and future nursing research

Use of the Concept

Identify the many use of the concept you selected in the literature sources. Use dictionary, and in evidence-based databases. For example: Alarm: definition Fatigue: definition. And Alarm Fatigue: definition in healthcare settings. Include literature evidence that relate to your concept.

Attributes

In this section describe the characteristics of the concept.  For example in Alarm Fatigue, the attributes could be: 1) an environment with constant and repetitive sounds. 2) A decrease in motivation and interest in surroundings. 3) a diminished capacity for physical and mental work.

Antecedents

            Here describe event that must occur prior to the manifestation of the concept. For example with alarm fatigue: 1) involvement of the healthcare professional, 2) patient care environment with excessive stimuli

Consequences

Here describe event that must occur after the manifestation of the concept. For example with alarm fatigue: 1) reduction of capacity to give an expected response to a signal, 2) a significant clinical event missed or ignored who could result in negative outcomes for the patient

Empirical Referents

This is the last step of the concept analysis. In this section you will incorporate the name of author and years of references that elaborates on the topic of your concept.

Conclusion

Identify the main ideas and major conclusions from the body of your manuscript. Do not add new information in the conclusion.
