In your Unit 4 Check-Point assignment, you were tasked with researching several professional counseling organizations, including a subdivision of the American Counseling Association (ACA). The assignment required you to summarize publication trends in that division’s flagship journal and requested that you download at least three recent (2021 or newer) empirical articles within it. Please complete an annotated bibliography of those three articles.

Each article annotation should be presented on its own page. A complete and precise APA (7th ed.) reference of the article should be placed at the top of the page. Make sure to refer to your APA manual to confirm the format.

Counseling Trends Annotated Bibliography

Following the reference, a comprehensive annotation of the article should be provided, which serves to both summarize and critique it. At a minimum, the annotation should:

• Indicate the primary research question and/or hypothesis (if applicable) pursued within the study described
• Identify the research methodology leveraged by researchers
• Delineate specific variables measured (if quantitative)
• Include a description of participants (number, age, sex, )
• Describe the study procedures (i.e. what did the researchers do and how did they do it?)
• Summarize the study’s results
• Describe the strengths and weaknesses of the study and/or article
• Address how the article contributes to the knowledge and practice of counseling
• Clarify how the study’s subject relates specifically to constructs presented in Orientation to Counseling
