Overview

A case study is a research approach that is used to generate an in-depth, multi-faceted understanding of a complex issue in its real-life context.  The general purpose of a case study research is to describe an individual situation (case), identify the key issues of the case (your assignment question should tell you what to focus on), analyze the case using relevant theoretical concepts from a health perspective, and recommend a course of action for that particular case.   You will analyze two Case Studies throughout the duration of this course. For each case study, you will be asked to answer specific questions based on the content of the current, drug-related issue video/article/scenario provided.  The purpose of these reports is to give you a chance to work out your own view about the issues raised by each case and to practice the procedure for analyzing dilemmas related to drug use.

Instructions

Each Case Study Analysis must be presented according to the following:

• Structured in paragraph form using current APA formatting
• Utilize Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1” margins and double-spaced
• Include both a title and reference page
• Consist of 2–3 pages in length
• Require a minimum of 2–3 scholarly references. Acceptable sources include your text, a professional journal, and a professional or government website (such as CDC).
• Include Bible Scriptures to explain and defend your stance

In evaluating your Case Study, your instructor will apply the Case Study Grading Rubric. The articles and videos required to complete the case studies are provided in the Module: Week in which the case study is due.

Juuling Case Study Assignment

Read the article, Vaping Marijuana by Teens Doubles in Last Seven Years, in the Learn section of Module 5: Week 5. After reading the article, discuss the following issues and public health and education prompts.

1. The Issues
   1. Summarize the issue of Juuling and vaping
   2. What are the health implications for using thess substances?
   3. What are the moral/biblical implications of using these substances?
   4. What societal issues are of concern with use of these substances?

2. Public Health Intervention and Education
   1. Select two additional scholarly articles about Juuling/Vaping and present evidence-based interventions about how to best prevent youth from smoking/Juuling/Vaping
